About Vertical Pressed Bamboo Flooring

Vertical pressed bamboo flooring is created by side pressing strips of bamboo together. The Vertical grain orientation provides a very consistent and even colouring pattern, which is great for smaller spaces and can make them feel more open & roomy. Scoring 1300 on the Janka hardness test (the most commonly used test for measuring hardwoods) still makes it hard flooring compared to floors such as red Oak and Beech
As bamboo is a natural product, the colour may vary from that in the pictures.

Bamboo Flooring has less contraction and expansion

Unlike traditional hardwood flooring bamboo is a more stable alternative with expansion and contraction up to 2.5 times less than commonly used solid woods such as Oak. This is important in the New Zealand environment as the humidity changes can cause cupping and warping in solid wood floors.

Bamboo flooring is Green and Sustainable

Bamboo is a renewable and sustainable resource, being one of the fastest growing plants it takes only 4 – 6 years to mature, making it an environmentally friendly alternative to solid wood.

Bamboo flooring is easy to install

Bamboo flooring is extremely easy to install over existing sub flooring, due to the new click lock process.  The click lock technology allows ease of installation, without the use of messy glues or nails which makes it great for DIY. We recommend that you lay your bamboo flooring floating as it reduces the risk of cupping and warping.
