Special Bamboo Flooring

Due to Bamboo’s versatility we also have a special range of bamboo flooring; this includes hand sculpted finish flooring, a raw bamboo pattern flooring and square flooring tiles (please see side pictures for more detail). These are all made of solid bamboo so you are still getting the same strength and durability of the more traditional bamboo flooring. All of our bamboo flooring is coated with 6 layers of water based polyurethane. As bamboo is a natural product, the colour may vary from that in the pictures.

Bamboo Flooring has less contraction and expansion

Unlike traditional hardwood flooring bamboo is a more stable alternative with expansion and contraction up to 2.5 times less than commonly used solid woods such as Oak. This is important in the New Zealand environment as the humidity changes can cause cupping and warping in solid wood floors.

Bamboo is a renewable and sustainable resource, being one of the fastest growing plants it takes only 4 – 6 years to mature, making it an environmentally friendly alternative to solid wood.
