The Horizontal grain alignment patterns display the unique bamboo joint textures of the grass, and create a one of a kind flooring look. Scoring 1310 on the Janka hardness test (the most commonly used test for measuring hardwoods) still makes it a hard flooring compared to floors such as red Oak and Beech. Bamboo Flooring has less contraction and expansion Unlike traditional hardwood flooring bamboo is a more stable alternative with expansion and contraction up to 2.5 times less than commonly used solid woods such as Oak. This is important in the New Zealand environment as the humidity changes can cause cupping and warping in solid wood floors. Bamboo flooring is Green and Sustainable Bamboo is a renewable and sustainable resource, being one of the fastest growing plants it takes only 4 – 6 years to mature, making it an environmentally friendly alternative to solid wood. Bamboo flooring is easy to install Bamboo flooring is extremely easy to install over existing sub flooring, due to the new click lock process. The click lock technology allows ease of installation, without the use of messy glues or nails which makes it great for DIY.
