About Solid Bamboo Stairs
Continue the bamboo flow in your home by using one of our two bamboo
stair options, stair boards or stair nosing. A bamboo stair board is
made by using the horizontal or vertical alignment of bamboo strips
either option offers a unique look for your stair case. Alternatively
compressed bamboo stair nosing can be used with compressed bamboo
flooring to create your stair case. The advantage of the stair nosing is
it allows for contrasting colours. For example the stair nosing can be a
light colour and the floor board a dark colour or vice versa, this
creates a more defined step which is safer and visually striking.
As
bamboo is a natural product, the colour may vary from that in the
pictures.
Bamboo Handrails and Balustrades

We can
offer you the whole package for your staircase including handrails and
balustrades. As every staircase is different please contact us to
discuss what you would like and we will do our best to accommodate your
request. As we get everything custom made the lead time can take up to
two months.
Bamboo has less contraction and expansion
Unlike
traditional hardwood products bamboo is a more stable alternative with
expansion and contraction up to 2.5 times less than commonly used solid
woods such as Oak. This is important in the New Zealand environment as
the humidity changes can cause cupping and warping in solid wood floors
& staircases.
Bamboo flooring is Green and Sustainable
Bamboo is a renewable and sustainable resource, being one
of the fastest growing plants it takes only 4 - 6 years to mature,
making it an environmentally friendly alternative to solid wood.
